Our club started in the fall of 2019 and has continued to grow ever since. As students of racial minority, we strive to demonstrate our role as a proud community. We take part in recognizing the cultural conflicts occurring around us and every meeting we collaborate on ideas about how we can make a long lasting impact on our school and society. We have done some miraculous things just within a year of being pronounced an official club. One of our most impressive accomplishments was raising a substantial amount of money that can be used towards our club's budget. The MLT hosted a movie event at our school along with concessions at the entrance, which then contributed to our total profit of about $800! It was such a great turnout as each and every one of our members were committed to make the event a huge success. Additionally, each year we design a new club T-shirt that we encourage to be worn both in and out of school. Due to Covid-19 regulations this year, it has been a challenge to stay on top of our intended plans. However, as a team we manage ourselves around the complications by hosting google meets every other Friday and conspiring ideas or goals for the upcoming week. Our most recent goal is to get our club known despite the limited amount of days we attend school. To do so, we came up with the idea of creating masks with a specific emblem on them that symbolizes a deeper meaning to our club's mission.
